Product care

To make the most of your pieces, we've created a guide that will take you through all you need to know — from everyday cleaning, to storage, and oven baking — answering the questions our customers ask us every day.

Mud Australia porcelain

Mud Australia porcelain is a handmade product and should be treated with care during use.

All Mud Australia porcelain dinnerware is dishwasher safe. To ensure your porcelain does not chip in the dishwasher, gently place each piece on the racks and ensure they are not touching other items.

If you don't have a dishwasher, hand wash with warm soapy water and carefully stack in a dish rack to dry with a clear space between each item.

To avoid scratches on the glaze ideally your porcelain will either be stored in plate racks or use linen/felt between each item.

Sudden changes in temperature (e.g. from freezer to oven / from oven to cold bench) is likely to cause thermal shock, which will damage your porcelain. Always put cold items onto wire racking when placing in a hot oven. Always place very hot items onto either wood or cloth.

You can use a little water on a magic sponge to remove any surface marks. This is great for removing baked-on stains or tea tannins.

Many minor defects can be improved upon with some gentle care. Slightly chipped edges can be softened by sandpapering the area by hand with a fine sandpaper. Be sure to only sand the matte side, never the glazed side. If you are unsure if your porcelain is still safe for use in the microwave, oven or dishwasher after chipping, please contact us for advice.

Slight irregularities in size, glaze and texture reflect the handmade nature of the product and should be embraced.

Cutipol cutlery

Follow our maintenance instructions to make the most out of your Cutipol cutlery.

When handwashing Cutipol cutlery, avoid using abrasive scrubs or steel wire scourers. After use, be sure to wash off any food remains as soon as possible with hot water and a neutral detergent.

Your Cutipol cutlery is dishwasher safe. Minimize prolonged contact with the dishwasher steam by removing it as soon as the wash cycle ends and always place the cutlery in the dishwasher with handles facing up.

To ensure your resin handles last longer and maintain their darker hue, we suggest applying a moisturising lotion or a few drops of vegetable oil.

Glassware

Whilst our glassware can be cleaned in the dishwasher, as a handmade product we recommend that it be hand washed with a neutral detergent. We ask that you treat this delicate glassware with care and avoid stacking. Due to the inherent nature of its production there may be slight variations in thickness and colour.
