Originally introduced in 1951 and designed by Norwegian textile designer Gerd Hay-Edie, this check placemat shares a story about timeless design and craft.
Working throughout the 20th Century her legacy on the world of woven textiles is now being carried on by her family through Mourne Textiles. The family-owned business continue to produce her original designs – using traditional hand-loom techniques in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland.
The Mourne Check is woven from a durable blend of wool, linen and cotton. 50% Linen, 25% Cotton, 25% Wool.

All orders are shipped via Australia Post or in-store pickup is available from selected Mud Australia stores located in Sydney or Melbourne. Click here for store details.

Our returns policy
We offer a 30-day exchange period from the date of delivery on all online orders. Items must be returned intact in their original, unused condition.
Please email Customer Service with your order number to make arrangements to return your items. Make sure to pack the return pieces as securely as possible, preferably in the same packaging you received them. Any additional shipping and postage charges are your responsibility. Please note shipping costs are non-refundable. Mud is not responsible for any breakages of return items.
If your item/s arrive broken or faulty please email us at [email protected] or complete our contact form to inform us about damaged goods within 48 hours of delivery. We request you send us photos showing the damage so we can arrange a replacement item or credit. Please do not send us broken items.
