Thoughtfully handmade with care

Mud Australia is proudly made in Sydney. Our pouring team is trained in-house and use a combination of experience and intuition to cast each piece. The beauty of our pieces can be attributed to the hand-made process and human touch.

Using porcelain clay sourced directly from Limoges, France, our 19 bespoke colours are mixed in-house. The pigment is tinted to the body at slip stage to provide colour depth.

Clear glaze is applied to the interior of each porcelain plate, leaving the exterior with a vitrified stone-like surface that becomes smooth with handling.

Our porcelain dinner plates are food safe and can, with some care, be used in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.

Lay the foundation to the perfect dinner set

Our ceramic dinner plates fit perfectly into any home, and make the perfect gift. All our dinner plates are available for purchase individually allowing for ultimate customisation, through colour, silhouette and the number of place settings.

Our ceramic plates are offered in 10 colours – selected for maximum wear and durability and in tones that allow your food to always be the hero. Add a burst of colour to your table with our ceramic bowls – available in all 19 colours.

The Mud Australia porcelain range has been developed in tones to complement each other, making it even easier for you to build your dinner set. Opt for either monochromatic, tone on tone or playfully mix colours. Our porcelain plate and bowl collection has the flexibility to create a setting for any occasion.

Choosing your pieces

The best foundation for building a dinner set begins with 3 key pieces – a side plate, dinner plate, and a bowl. These 3 key pieces will afford you the flexibility to cover most of your serving needs.

The dinner plate anchors your setting so we recommend making this your 1st selection. Available in 3 sizes – Flared Plate Small, Flared Dinner Plate and Dinner Plate. The flared silhouette hints at a more classic shape, while the Dinner Plate has a more contemporary profile with a flat base and a lip around the edge.

What is unique about Mud Australia’s dinner plates?

Are Mud Australia ceramic plates and bowls, dishwasher and microwave safe?

Our dinner plate collection is food safe and can, with some care, be used in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.

In the dishwasher, make sure items are not touching. To avoid scratches on the glaze ideally your porcelain will either be stored in plate racks or use linen/felt between each item.

Sudden changes in temperature (eg. from freezer to oven / from oven to cold bench) is likely to cause thermal shock, which will damage your porcelain. Always put cold items onto wire racking when placing in a hot oven. Always place very hot items onto either wood or cloth.
