Great news, we’ve extended our deadline for the Shelley Simpson Ceramics Prize! Applications are now open until January 31, 2022.

Applications for the Shelley Simpson Ceramics Prize 2022 will open August 2021.

The Prize is open to students entering their final year of a tertiary or vocational degree offering Ceramics as an elective, and will be awarded based on an original ceramic project the student enters. A cash sum of $10,000 will be awarded to the winner of the Prize, which is intended to support the recipient’s living, creative and study expenses.


Applicants must be:

— Enrolled in Higher or Vocational Education which offers Ceramics as either an elective OR major

— This prize has been created to assist students in their final year – your intended final year must be 2022 (Masters, BA or Diploma)

— An Australian citizen or permanent resident

— Not already holding another scholarship

— In genuine financial need
