Mud Australia x APY Art Centre Collective

We’re excited to be working in collaboration once again with the APY Art Centre Collective on the latest evolution of our partnership with Mud Australia.

On Friday, 27 June, the first 50 striking porcelain pieces are set to be released, inspired by traditional Piti, vessels historically used by Anangu women to carry food and water. These culturally significant forms have been reimagined in fine porcelain and feature bold, contemporary marks by APY artists.

This upcoming release marks the continuation of a valued collaboration between Mud Australia and the APY Art Centre Collective, a partnership rooted in creative excellence, cultural respect, and meaningful employment for First Nations artists and artworkers.

Launching with an initial release of 50 forms, the project sets a bold intention to scale a sustainable model, one that generates long-term income for APY artists through the design, production, and sale of culturally significant and visually striking ceramic works. Each piece reflects a deep sense of pride from the artists and artworkers involved, created within a framework that ensures they remain the primary beneficiaries of their creativity, cultural heritage, and dedication.

Mud Australia acknowledges we operate our studio on Gadigal country. We acknowledge the Gadigal people as the traditional custodians of the Eora Nation and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
