Holly Gibson is an Australian photographer currently based in Paris, celebrated for her documentary photography and fashion campaigns. Her journey began with her grandfather's old Pentax camera, sparking a passion that led her to self-teach manual shooting and showcase her work in exhibitions across Australia. After attending art school in Sydney and gaining experience through internships and assisting roles, Holly carved a unique space in the industry. Drawing inspiration from her friends, daily encounters, films, and books, her work captures a unique essence of human connection.
We spent a blustery Parisien afternoon with Holly, sharing cheese, cider, and conversations about creativity and the concept of home. Her Parisian abode, a place of stillness and inspiration, reflects her artistic sensibilities and provides a calm and inspiring space amid her busy life.

Favourite space or room in your home? Best season in the space?
I love the ground-floor, open-plan kitchen that opens out onto a typically Parisian courtyard. In summer, I entertain a lot with the windows open and fully embrace the warmer months. Being from Brisbane, I really enjoy alfresco living and make the most of the warm, vibrant season.
How important is colour and texture in your life?
Colour and texture are so important to me, especially in my home. Since this house is a rental, most of the finishes are neutral and wood. I bring my own personality to the space with pops of colour in my tableware and pieces from Mud. It’s a simple way to make the space feel warm and creative.
Go-to recipe for a lazy night?
I hate to say it but my true lazy night dinner is a picky-plate of cheese, pickles, delicious french bread and butter. I have an affinity with Japanese food so often order in some great local Japanese.
