Since 1994, Mud Australia has created elegant and timeless porcelain homewares.
The original Mud Australia store opened in Woollahra in 2007. Since then we’ve opened 14 stores globally.
Our Islington store has moved around the corner to 36 Cross Street. We’re now settled into the new space, with the same collection of handmade porcelain and a little more room to explore it.
Set amongst independent shops and neighbourhood cafés, our new home brings together our handmade porcelain collection in a design setting.
Designed in collaboration with Melbourne-based DesignOffice, the store brings Mud’s established design language to a new setting. Bespoke joinery, Vitsœ 606 Universal Shelving and Barber Osgerby Home Tables sit alongside the building’s original architectural details, with a considered palette of colour and tone throughout.
The store carries our full porcelain tableware collection, from everyday essentials to serving pieces and vases, alongside our lighting and house numbers. With 19 colours across much of the collection, you can explore combinations, compare forms and find the pieces that work for your home.

The kitchen from Joyn Kitchen's is nestled in the rear of the store, bringing a domestic feel to the space. These surfaces allow customers to interpret Mud Australia’s collection in their own homes, styled across a variety of surfaces and settings, from kitchen benchtops to the dining table.
