Launched in April at Milan Design Week 2019 as part of the collaborative STILL/LIFE exhibition with Calico Wallpaper and Ladies & Gentlemen Studio, Mud Australia’s new matte collection is available now as a special order across all stores around the world.
Porcelain is a vitrified material, and when left unglazed, it takes on a really beautiful smooth and dense character. Leaving the pieces unglazed also adds to the durability of the product, making the matte collection particularly suitable for commercial high-use environments. Unglazed, the pieces take on a more earthy, raw aesthetic that celebrates the natural material; transforming them from functional tableware into pieces of sculpture.
All Mud Australia pieces are handmade in Sydney, Australia, using high quality porcelain from Limoges, France. Slight irregularities in size and texture reflect the artisan nature of the product and should be embraced. Each piece of Mud Australia is unique, oven, microwave, dishwasher and food safe.
The matte finish is available in all 20 colours and all 80 shapes. Standard colours include: Ash, Blossom, Bottle, Blue, Citrus, Duck Egg, Dust, Milk, Mist, Pistachio, Pink, Sand, Steel, Wasabi, Yellow. Premium colours include: Ink, Orange, Plum, Red, Slate.
